Join CWS, Metro, THPRD and The Wetlands Conservancy this winter to count frog and salamander egg masses in parks and natural areas around the region.
Volunteers will track Pacific chorus frogs, Northwest salamanders, long-toed salamanders and Northern red-legged frogs. Monitoring these native species helps indicate overall wetland health and how regional enhancement efforts are helping wildlife thrive.
Volunteers typically conduct four separate surveys, totaling approximately 12 - 25 hours in late January - March 2017. New volunteers must attend one of the three trainings listed below to participate in the 2017 season.
