Culvert Replacement at 165th Place and Rigert Terrace
Project #6251
This project will improve stormwater conveyance and provide fish passage for resident cutthroat in upper Johnson Creek South in Aloha. It will also include enhancement of nearby sensitive areas, completing the extensive stream enhancement work that has been done in Summercrest Park. This will be the first of the District’s high priority culvert replacements identified in the 2005 Healthy Streams Plan. A concrete box culvert will replace two undersized culverts under 165th Place alleviating the backup of water. The bottom of the culvert will be filled with natural stream bed material and boulders for fish to rest behind.
While native cutthroat reside in this stream reach, currently there are no migratory salmonids.
UPDATE - Project Complete
The project is now complete and construction was accepted by the Clean Water Services Board of Directors on June 5, 2007 by Minute Order No. 07-50.
