This project consists of the replacement of two parallel (stacked) 15-inch sanitary sewers with a single 24-inch sanitary sewer. The segment to be replaced is on 12th Avenue in Cornelius, between Dogwood Street and Ginger Street, and is approximately 900- feet long and includes 12 lateral connections and replacement of two manholes.
A nearby subdivision is under construction and has been approved to connect to the existing undersized sewer on 12th Avenue that surcharges during significant wet weather events.
Approximate cost of project is anticipated to be approximately $600,000 with the City of Cornelius to share in a 42%, or $252,000 of the project costs.
