Project #6206
This project was identified as a high priority in the 2000 Sanitary Sewer Master Plan. Observed flows during storm events have confirmed the need for this project. The project will upgrade approximately 4,545 linear feet of 10 and 12-inch sewer to 15 and 18-inch sanitary sewer from Blanton Street south of TV Highway in Aloha through Johnson Street north of TV Highway. This section includes upsizing through a combination of open cut and pipe bursting. It also involves approximately 170 linear feet of bore and jack across TV Highway. Approximately 1,670 feet will be upsized through a wetland and will involve environmental permits. The project also includes 1,900 linear feet of 10-inch upsizing to 12-inch along Shaw Street, through private property and terminating at Blanton Street. This portion will be upsized via pipe bursting.
Wetlands in the project area will be enhanced to remove invasive non-native plants and revegetate with native plants to help restore the natural functions of the wetlands.
Time Frame: South of TV Highway, including all of the pipe bursting section, will be constructed in May of 2008. North of TV Highway through the wetland will be in July 2008.
Estimated cost: $1.1 million
