Watershed Science Certificate Program

Clean Water Services, in conjunction with Portland State University - Environmental Professional Program, is proud to present to you
the Watershed Science Certificate Program. The Program is specifically designed for District and City/County staff working in the areas of watershed management, engineering, development services, field operations, inspection, and public affairs. This Program will to provide relevant Tualatin Basin information that will help employees perform their jobs more efficiently and effectively.
The Program
The Watershed Science Certificate Program is grounded in the basics of watershed science, with a focus on the Tualatin Basin. Professionals will apply the knowledge gained in Watershed Ecology classes to advance their skills in Field Assessments and Design and Enhancement. The Program is designed to provide job and task specific education to help employees diversify their knowledge, improve consistency in the communication of natural resource information, and gain efficiencies in their daily activities. Participant experience combined with skillful presentations of local experts will provide opportunities for interesting and enlightening discussions regarding the intersection of ecological, social and economic needs.
The Program will provide affordable courses that promote:
- Core knowledge of Tualatin Basin ecology
- Awareness and access to Basin specific information
- Understanding of principles, practices and processes used in the Basin to advance projects and programs
- Consistent communication regarding the state-of-the science and regulatory compliance
