Description: Cool-season, long-lived, perennial grass. One tuft produces 10-30 flowering stalks. Leaf blades (5-70 co long) are coarse and thick.
Where it grows: Grows along roads, ditches, railroad tracks and other moist, disturbed places.
How it spreads: Reproduces by seed and spreads vegetativley, forming dense, solid stands. Also dispersed in livestock manure.
What it threatens: Can invade open, natural communities and displace native species.
