Reed Canarygrass

Species: arundinacea
Description: Grass family, upright stems grow to 2 meters (6 ft) tall. Has flat, green leaf blades 2 cm (.8 in) wide, blooms May through June.
Where it grows: Can form dense stands in wetlands, meadows and riparian areas.
How it spreads: Spreads through rhizomes (underground stems) and seeds.
What it threatens: Stands exclude and displace native plants and animals, also constrict waterways.
