Description: Sprawling, evergreen shrub of the Rose family. Shrub mounds up to 3 meters (10 ft) tall. Shrub has prickles and produces black fruit.
Where it grows: Grows in areas initially disturbed and then neglected by humans. Also grows in dense thickets, especially wet ones.
How it spreads: Seed spreads by birds and regenerates from sections of root stock.
What it threatens: May hinder medium to large sized mammals in gaining access to water, may also displace native plant species.
