Field Bindweed

Species: arvensis
Description: Perennial vine of the morning-glory family, has dull green leaves and light pink to white flowers.
Where it grows: Grows in orchards, vineyards, roadsides, ditchbanks, cropland streambanks and lakeshores.
How it spreads: Spreads by rhizome (underground stems) and seeds.
What it threatens: Can twine and form dense tangled mats, takes nutrients and water from natives. Primarily a problem in riparian corridors and shurbland/grassland, where it can rapidly choke out native grasses.
