Water Quality Investigations Program
The urbanized area of Washington County has separate sanitary sewers and stormwater systems. Only rain water can be discharged to the stormwater system. Clean Water Services will investigate illicit discharges or respond to spills that may affect surface waters of the Tualatin River Watershed. Clean Water Services manages this program through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with its member cities. If a request for spill response is needed within a city’s jurisdiction, the responders may be from a city. The Source Control Division provides this service for the unincorporated areas of Washington County within the urban growth boundary, and other areas within the Clean Water Services service area. To contact Clean Water Services Source Control Division call (503) 681-5175.
