About 30 percent of the Tualatin River flow in the summer months is cleaned wastewater.

Who we are
Clean Water Services is a wastewater and stormwater utility committed to protecting water resources in the Tualatin River Watershed.

Be water smart this summer

Sunnier days bring smiles to many faces around the Pacific NorthwestWater only one-inch per week this time of year. However, brown lawns and higher water bills may cause a few frowns. Be water wise. Follow these simple steps to save money and still have a healthy lawn:

  • Water one-inch per week (one tuna can's worth is all your lawn needs)
  • Plant natives—they require less water and fewer chemicals
  • Water in the morning or at dusk to prevent evaporation
  • Mow higher for deeper roots
  • Use compost to improve soil and retain water
  • Use organic or slow-release fertilizer

Fanno befriends fish and fauna at Englewood

Englewood EnhancementNext time you're at Englewood Park in Tigard, you may notice a few more inhabitants in the ground, in the air and in the stream. The 16-acre area along a half mile of Fanno Creek is being restored to improve water quality and wildlife habitat and manage flooding.

The Fanno Creek Enhancement Project was identified as a high priority in the Fanno Creek Watershed Plan. Project elements include:

  • Re-meander previously straightened portions of the stream
  • Increase stream's connection to its floodplain
  • Improve streambanks and wildlife habitat though placement of large wood
  • Establish native riparian plants to shade and cool the stream.

With help from our partners that include the City of Tigard, Fans of Fanno Creek and Cascade Education Corps, enhancement will continue through next spring with regular maintenance through 2011. To learn more about the project visit www.cleanwaterservices.org/Englewood.
