Did you know?
Henry Hagg Lake averages 51 feet in depth and is 103 feet deep at its maximum. Water quality is tested weekly at the lake in search of any harmful contaminates.

Who we are
Clean Water Services is a wastewater and stormwater utility committed to protecting water resources in the Tualatin River Watershed.

Tualatin's flow gets a boost

Every summer in early July, Clean Water Services begins releasing water fromHagg Lake spillway Scoggins Reservoir (Hagg Lake) and Barney Reservoir to the Tualatin River. The reason: to improve water quality and protect fish and wildlife by maintaining stream flows. During the dry months, water demands are very high and flows are very low, since the Tualatin River does not receive water from snow melt.

Clean Water Services’ scientists consider the weather forecast, the amount of stored water available in the reservoirs and the number of summer days left before requesting the release of water to the river. The goal is to augment flows to maintain water temperatures and dissolved oxygen levels that protect the fish and wildlife in the river. This year’s release began July 1st.

During the late summer months, Clean Water Services’ water releases from Scoggins Reservoir, Barney Reservoir, and its two advanced wastewater treatment facilities account for nearly 50 percent of the flow in the lower Tualatin River.
