Clean Water Services names Watershed Management Department Director
Hillsboro, OR — May 8, 2007 —
Clean Water Services of Washington County has named Bruce Roll as Watershed Management Department Director to manage staff working on water resources infrastructure, watershed ecology, and policy and marketplace development. Major projects managed by the Watershed Management Department include the Tualatin Basin Water Supply Project, Healthy Streams Plan, urban and rural tree planting projects, and environmental marketplace and policy development.
Prior to joining Clean Water Services (the District), Roll served as the assistant director of public works for Whatcom County Government in Bellingham, Washington where he oversaw programs similar to the District’s surface and stormwater management, and water resources protection programs. Roll holds a Doctorate in Environmental Sciences and a double Master’s degree in Public Health and Microbiology, and he has 18 years’ experience protecting public health and the environment.
Clean Water Services is water resource management utility for nearly 500,000 people in urban Washington County and small portions of Multnomah County, Clackamas County, Lake Oswego, and Portland. Clean Water Services operates four wastewater treatment facilities, constructs and maintains flood management and water quality projects, and manages flow in the Tualatin River to improve water quality and protect fish habitat. Although Clean Water Services maintains a close working relationship with Washington County government, it is a separately managed and financed public utility.
