Hillsboro, OR — August 28, 2003 —
Did you know that Clean Water Services’ Rock Creek and Durham Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facilities clean the wastewater from homes and industry to nearly drinking water standards, and that the cleaned wastewater released into the Tualatin River actually enhances the health of the river?
Are you wondering how these incredible results are achieved?
The public will have a chance to view Clean Water Services wastewater treatment facilities in Hillsboro and Tigard during open houses offered on September 10 and September 24. It’s a rare opportunity to see a state of the art, award-winning facility for anyone who wonders how the process works and how advanced wastewater treatment benefits the Tualatin River Watershed and the community.
The open houses will feature a showing of Clean Water Services’ award winning video Oregon's Tualatin River: A Watershed Restored, and an in-depth, one-hour guided tour.
The open houses are scheduled for:
· Rock Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility, Wednesday, September 10, 3125 S.E. River Road near Witch Hazel Road, Hillsboro, with tours leaving on the half hour from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
· Durham Wastewater Treatment Facility, Wednesday, September 24, 16580 S.W. 85th Ave., near Tigard High School, Tigard, with tours leaving on the half hour from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
